Saint Petersburg Month of Photography (SPMOP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building a local platform where lens-based artists and art-loving audiences can connect, learn, and be inspired through the power of photography.
Our mission is to bring to Saint Petersburg the stories, beauty, and shared humanity captured through the eyes of photographers, local and international, amateur and professional, young and old. Photography, like no other medium, has the power to transcend boundaries, expand understanding, and tell deeply resonant stories.
We believe in photography’s unique ability to foster connection across cultures and communities. Through visual storytelling, we celebrate what makes us human.
Saint Petersburg Month of Photography (SPMOP) envisions a thriving, inclusive photography community that positions St. Pete and the greater Tampa Bay area as a nationally and internationally recognized cultural destination each May.
We believe in the power of photography to spark connection, inspire dialogue, and bring people together across backgrounds and generations. By uniting photographers, artists, and enthusiasts—from emerging talents to seasoned professionals—SPMOP creates a month-long celebration where every lens-based event in the region can be discovered, shared, and experienced.
Our vision is not only to showcase outstanding photography but to build a creative, connected community that reflects the diversity and stories of Tampa Bay—while reaching audiences far beyond its borders.
